Thor Storms Into Theaters This May

If you stuck around after the conclusion of the credits for Iron Man two, you're fortunate enough to see what was basically a sneak-peak at the upcoming THOR film coming out May 6, 2011. Agent Coulson, played by the Clark Gregg -- star of Old Christine and about 100 films, was called in to investigate the government's newest and top-secret finding. The Thor's hammer in the middle of a deep crater in the ground... Thor being the mythical God of Thunder. In a world where Tony Stark could be Man, a God of Thunder existing. a God.

With the achievement which Iron Man needed in theaters, Marvel has again decided to attract a different B-list character of theirs into the Silver Screen. Most of us have heard of this god Thor, but his comic book counterpart in Marvel isn't so well-known, this movie aims to change that. To reach that goal, Marvel has engaged the services of legendary actor and director Kenneth Branagh -- famous for his Shakespearean efforts in the movie and performs amongst other matters. In choosing who'd play the famous God of Thunder, a wide casting call was undertaken. Celebrities like True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard and WWE's John Cena were believed.

At the end, they chose Chris Hemsworth, who is little known outside of playing James Kirk's dad in the latest Star Trek reboot. While much less renowned as some of the other celebrities considered, the current trailer shows that they made the right choice. He definitely looks physical enough to play the role if nothing else. In casting Thor's dad -- the one-eyed God Odin -- they brought Sir Anthony Hopkins into the function. With talents like Branagh and Hopkins included, the new film promises to be epic and Shakespearian in size and extent. It is going to as much Lord of the Rings since it is superhero epic such as Iron Man. Rounding out the cast is Dark Swan's Natalie Portman as love interest Jane Foster, and Tom Hiddleston as Thor's evil twisted brother Loki.navigate here
